Looking back to see what moved forward

By

Podcasts, improv theatre, new projects, and the joy of remaining endlessly curious.

Once, I heard someone recommend keeping a brag folder: a place to collect kind words, testimonials, wins, and projects you are proud of. The idea was to have something to return to when preparing for a performance review, applying for a new role, or simply needing a reminder of how much you have accomplished. I loved the idea and I have been making inventories of development and achievements since then.

So, looking back on the first half of this year to see what goes into that folder, I see myself...

✴

Going live with a podcast I created together with two friends — a space where we share funny stories about getting lost in translation and navigating situations that once made us feel uncomfortable, but that we can now revisit with humour and a touch of irony.

✴

Attending a course on branding that filled me with hope and energy to start my own creative projects. It also gave me new tools and perspectives for something that interests me professionally: helping organizations develop and express a more purposeful and authentic message as they evolve.

✴

Diving into improvisational theatre, something I had wanted to do ever since finishing university. Over the past few years, my curiosity about creativity, coaching, storytelling and communication has only grown, and improv somehow brings all of those threads together: listening, responding, letting go, building on other people's ideas and daring to see where a story takes you.

✴

Delivering two big projects in my professional role. One of them was developing the content for a completely new website — from structure and storytelling to UX and microcopy. The kind of project I love because it sits right at the intersection of strategy, language, creativity, and making things easier for people to understand.

✴

Leading and mentoring a student during her work experience placement. I planned the week, created opportunities for her to learn by doing, and coached her through different tasks and creative processes. It was a deeply rewarding experience.

✴

Continuing to support the local group of Sveriges Kommunikatörer in the region of Skåne, helping create spaces where communications professionals can meet, exchange ideas, and stay curious together.

And perhaps running through all of this, I see myself remaining endlessly curious about creativity — how it works, what nurtures it, and what happens when we give ourselves permission to follow it.

Maybe it is not a collection of achievements. It is rather a collection of things I was curious enough to try. Some belong to work. Some don't. Some started as ideas that had been sitting quietly in the background for years. Others appeared because I met the right people, asked a question, signed up for something, or simply decided to give an idea a chance.

Now I will let the summer break refill my energy to see what projects to embrace the second part of this year.
